Welcome

Who We Are

In the hills of eastern Uganda, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim children learn side by side at Hadassah Primary School. Founded in 2001 by the Abayudaya Jewish community, our school has become a model of bridge-building in the Ugandan community. At Hadassah, more than 250 students study Uganda’s national curriculum as well as Jewish values, heritage, and leadership.

Impact

Since our first graduating class in 2007, hundreds of students have moved on to secondary school (high school). Many of them are the first in their families to advance this far. For children from impoverished families, orphans, and those facing difficult circumstances, Hadassah offers more than education: we provide two meals daily, boarding facilities for students from distant villages, and are a welcoming community. With support from all over the world, our education transforms both individual lives and our entire community.
